Reebok announced its first-ever footwear collection with Cardi B yesterday, and we really “like it like that.”

The collab between the English-American footwear empire and iconic rapper, which officially drops on November 13, emphasizes self-expression and female empowerment, using a bold and unique sneaker to remain unapologetically true to oneself.

 

 

The shoe comes from the redesign of Reebok’s Club C silhouette, altered to fit and headline true Cardi B fashion—game-changing silhouettes, bold designs and sleek execution are the embodiments of the new Club C Cardi and Cardi Coated Club C Double shoes, a true merging of the attitudes of Reebok and Cardi B.

Just as Reebok is notorious for changing the game when it comes to sneaker design, Cardi B is known for changing the game when it comes to the rap industry, and their sneaker collaboration is a culmination of the two at an intersection where big talk meets real possibilities. 

 

 

Cardi, who played a primary role in the design and curation process of the collection, took cues from the idea of a dystopian world and her latest fashion moments. The Club C silhouette provided a blank canvas, a starting point by which Cardi could take things to the next level with a chunky statement design, streamlined silhouette and the signature Reebok Classic branding.

 

 

The two silhouettes, the Club C Cardi ($100 USD) and the Cardi Coated Club C Double ($80 USD) are available in women’s and children’s footwear sizing options and a wildly vivid color palette—shades of monochromatic bright red, sleek, glossy black and clean white pepper the collection, proving that there’s no age limit on attitude. 

 

 

To launch her new collection, Cardi B will be headlining a new “B Unexplainable” campaign with Reebok to celebrate her personal growth and achievements, as well as her passion for design and equality. “B Unexplainable” will embark on an exploration of society’s standards and expectations for women—the dichotomy of being perfect yet humble, strong yet sensitive, confident without being too “extra,” “dramatic,” or “vain.”

 

Instead of adhering to society’s expectations, it urges women to do what we want to do and what we’re expected to do—following in Cardi’s footsteps, in Cardi’s shoes.
