Cartier Dazzles With Two New Watch Collections

The Precious Watches and Fine Watchmaking collections will debut in April and July, repsectively.

Trends will come and go, but an investment timepiece is a wardrobe staple that will last generations. A leader in haute horlogerie, Cartier continues to set the gold standard with two new collections: Precious Watches and Fine Watchmaking. Each collection embodies the brand’s top-of-the-line craftsmanship and creative artistic flair.

Precious Watches

Precious Watches, set to launch in April, highlights five decadent designs blurring the lines between fine jewelry and cutting-edge technology. Each piece is more lustrous than the next, adorned with precious jewels in masterfully arranged designs. The collection includes three renditions of the iconic Panthère Songeuse watch and two diamond watches — the Reptilis and the Rosary.

The Panthère Songeuse Watch

An interpretation of Cartier’s emblematic panther, the crystalline feline is given glowing pear-cut emerald eyes and onyx spots between 1039 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 4.67 carats. The panther is set in rhodium-finish white gold, contrasted by a black alligator leopard strap.

The following rendition of the Panthère Songeuse features sapphire spots, on a scintillating backdrop of a 325-diamond encrusted strap.

Like an ocean treasure, the final Panthère Songeuse is perched atop gradient stripes of deep blue, azure, and aqua enamel with alternating rows of briliant-cut diamonds. A blue alligator leather strap compliments its seaside hues.

The Reptilis Watch

The reptilis watch features scales of diamond-paved chevrons and princess-cut diamonds. Its geometric shape reflects light from every angle.

The Rosary Watch

A perfect complement to evening gowns and black-tie dress codes, this art deco-inspired piece is adorned with curves diamond disks and black squares throughout at the 12 o’clock marker. Its petite diamond-embellished face looks delicate and elegant on any wrist.

Fine Watchmaking

The next installment, debuting July 2021, focuses on Cartier’s expert craftsmanship. Three new Rotonde de Cartier watches highlight the brand’s sophisticated timekeeping technology, allowing insight into the maison’s artisanship with visible tourbillons. The pieces are released alongside an extremely limited-edition wood box, lacquered with undulating spirals of green, blue, and grey revealing each watch’s dial at its center. An alligator leather pouch and white gold cufflinks with interchangeable bars of sodalite, jade, and blue quartz accompany each box.

The Rotonde de Cartier Astromystérieux Watch

Reminiscent of a stormy sea, the deep teal alligator strap of the Astromystérieux provides a tranquil backdrop to a visible tourbillon, intricate minute hand mechanism, and classic Roman numeral-emblazoned dial. A beaded aquamarine cabochon reflects the timepiece’s oceanic tones.

The Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon Watch

The Astrotourbillon watch features a graphic dial, playing with negative space. Its silver numerals and transparent skeleton mechanisms make for a futuristic timepiece, offset by a classic blue alligator strap and matching aventurine cabachon.

The Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon Watch

Right on trend in a muted sage green hue, the Skeleton Mysterious Double Tourbillon watch rounds out the trio with the most intricate design yet. Its double flying organ appears to defy gravity, completing rotations with no visible gear train connection. Complete with a jade cabochon, it makes for a visually striking timepiece.

Deftly combining cutting-edge craftsmanship with elegant artistry, Cartier’s new collections make timeless watches feel like new.
