On Wednesday, ‘Le Voyage Recommence’, Cartier’s new 90-piece high jewelry collection, was unveiled in Florence on Wednesday with an Italian garden soirée and an exclusive exhibition in Tuscany that welcomed a long list of A-list stars and house ambassadors. The bold collection draws on the brand’s iconic archive and classic pieces, reimagined in a new light with a strong architectural influence and reinvention of the maison’s inspiration.
Building upon elements central to Cartier’s identity, geometry and contrast is ever present in the new collection, emphasizing symmetry and asymmetry, forms and patterns. Colorful moments of rubies, turquoise, spinels, and garnets take center stage, as diamonds accompany them. A range of necklaces takes inspiration from Islamic arts and architecture, founding themes of Cartier’s style. The intensity and power found within that art are harmonious within ‘Le Voyage Recommence’.
Featuring rolling green hills and baroque buildings, the garden of the Palazzo Corsini served as the perfect backdrop for the collection’s unveiling. The artistic and historical legacy of the palace provided a magnificent setting for the opulent collection, which welcomed President and CEO of Cartier Cyrille Vigneron and guests including World Ambassadors Gong Li, Vanessa Kirby, Elle Fanning, Golshifteh Farahani; Ambassadors Kimberly Woltemas, Tara Emad; and Friends of the House Adrien Brody, Riley Keough, Stéphane Bak, and Pom Klementieff. Following the collection’s debut, Cartier ambassador Labrinth performed and dinner was served.
In Tuscany, an exhibition at the Villa Reale di Marlia showed an exclusive selection of Cartier’s high jewelry pieces staged by architect, decorator, and loyal friend of the Maison Patricia Urquiola. A spectacular, extravagant display was created for the more than 350 pieces on display, combining sophistication and organic elements centered around the inspiration and ideas central to Cartier’s brand.
In combination with the exhibition, the jewelry collection creates a journey through which the maison’s fundamentals are approached from a new, unexpected angle.
