Casablanca & MAXFIELD LA Introduce ‘Desert Phantastica’
The luxury label and the LA based boutique partner for a month-long exclusive collection.
Parisian label Casablanca and Maxfield Los Angeles has joined forces for“Désert Phantasica.” Taking inspiration from the idyllic life in Palm Springs, the city is set against the backdrop of Casablanca’s signature vibrance in a 50-piece collection.
Warm and psychedelic, Casablanca stays true to the roots of French-Moroccan founder Charaf Tajer as the collection is compromised of bright silk and knit designs, including tops, jackets, buckets hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts, all designed with hand-painted prints. Sun-drunk yellows and bright blues are paired with emerald greens and burnt oranges, perfecting a pallet for the sunny summer.
Knits are hand-crocheted, the collection’s standouts being knitted tote bags and matching crocheted two-piece ensembles in either a polo and shorts or cropped top and mini skirt in hues of orange and blue. Other striking pieces include silk tennis club robes and coach jackets. The partnership has also installed a pop-up shop in Melrose at the Maxfield Gallery, bringing Tajer’s Moroccan roots to LA as the 80s are brought back to life through an installation set reminiscent of the Memphis Milano design movement.
The collection is available now at the Maxfield flagship and on Casablanca’s website, while the installation will be active until May 3.
