Celebrate Hip-Hop’s Golden Anniversary with Rémy Martin
There’s no greater duo in music than cognac and hip-hop.
In a collaboration of mixtape heavyweights and alcohol legends, Rémy Martin is unveiling the final installment of the brand’s three-part trilogy, just in time for the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Honoring the legacy of the genre and cognac, the VSOP Mixtape Volume 3 Limited Edition launches in tandem with a select few immersive experiences – each tailored to celebrate the mixtape culture of the late 20th century.
The Mixtape Street Art Museum, an exhibit that will travel across the nation, plans to celebrate the works of eight iconic DJs from influential music areas such as L.A, the Bay Area and of course, the birthplace of hip hop, New York. From Kool DJ Red Alert and DJ Marley Marl to DJ Spinderella and DJ Cocoa Chanelle, each mural will honor one of these pioneers of the genre. The exhibit was imagined by the talented illustrator, Xia Gordon, and will take place through commemorative murals that are sure to draw crowds.
Tina Reejsinghani, the Vice President of Rémy Martin Americas, spoke to the importance of the partnership. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the Universal Hip Hop Museum to preserve the history of hip hop and music culture for years to come,” says Reejsinghani. “With such a historic year for hip hop, we couldn’t be more excited to team up with celebrated icons in Mixtape culture to announce the launch of the VSOP Mixtape Vol. 3 Limited Edition.”
The VSOP Mixtape Vol 3 comes in vintage packaging with a contemporary edge. The bottle comes with a QR code that unlocks the tasting notes of Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac Fine Champagne – a testament to the art of flavor blending.
According to Global Executive Director Amaury Vinclet, “This latest release in the Mixtape trilogy, with its vintage VSOP label, timeless black bottle and premium gift box in Rémy Martin’s classic red, black and gold colors, is a wonderfully creative tribute to a shared culture – and a collectible.”
Throughout 2023, Rémy Martin will continue to celebrate hip hop’s big milestone with collaborative partnerships with iHeartMedia and the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Now through July, those who engage with the Mixtape Street Art murals will be able to scan a QR code to enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to a Rémy Martin-certified celebration, thanks to iHeart.
For anyone looking to toast to 50th anniversary of hip-hop, the only right way to do it is with the Rémy Ginger, a concoction of 1 3/4 oz Rémy Martin VSOP, ginger ale, angostura bitters, and of course, a lemon wedge on the side.
Starting March 7, the VSOP Mixtape Vol 3. Limited Edition will be available for purchase in stores in select markets and at online retailers for $52.99.
