Released as the perfect companion to the house’s recent Summer 2025 men’s show, CELINE has just debuted its women’s Summer 2025 collection during the tail end of Paris Fashion Week. Presented in the form of a show video, the house’s newest collection might just be Hedi Slimane’s most feminine collection to date. Directed by Slimane himself, the show titled “UN ÉTÉ FRANÇAIS” (or “A FRENCH SUMMER”, en anglais) taps into the ultra girly world of the 1960s.

Captured in Compiègne, France, at the Château de Compiègne, the runway show video is set to the tune of “Femme Fatale”, a song written and composed by Lou Reed and performed by The Velvet Underground and Nico, which happens to be the same song Slimane was listening to while reading Françoise Sagan’s Book La Chamade when he came up with the initial concept behind the collection, as mentioned in the collection notes. Filled with a sea of bows adorning everything from satin blouses to headbands to shift dresses (complete with an appearance by Lila Moss in the most stunning CELINE BEAUTÉ wing eyeliner look), Slimane’s latest heroine for the house is unafraid to tap into a more youthful feminine side, while still maintaining mature elegance about her. With the collection serving as an homage by Slimane to the recently passed Françoise Hardy, the French musician and style icon for the ages, the show video taps into the joie de vivre spirit that the muse undoubtedly exuded.

Alongside a wide-spanning range of covetable pieces such as the sequin adorned matching cardigan-tops to the pussy-bow blouses (and the stunning made-to-order Teen Joséphine bag, which comes directly from the CELINE ateliers and will be available in crocodile or ruby, emerald and amber lizard), the house has unveiled its newest creation in the Haute Parfumerie line created by Slimane, titled “Un Été Français”. With notes of bergamot, petitgrain, neroli, jasmine, vanilla, and gorse accord, the decadent scent was worn by the models in the show film, filling the halls of the Château de Compiègne with incredible scent.

“‘Un Été Français’ came to life at my beach house in Ramatuelle with its perfumed garden facing the sparkling mediterranean, bathing in summer languor, listening to Nico, Birkin, Hardy. It’s the memory of Greco, whom i loved, met, and photographed in Saint-Germain ten years ago, and who lived just a stone’s throw from me in her house in L’Escalet. I recall these youthful images of Greco and Annabelle Buffet with their natural French elegance having fun in the alleys of the old village. ‘Un Été Français’ is a nostalgic tribute to the last six summers spent in Saint Tropez, but also to teenage memories of the beaches of the Côte d’Azur, with first loves, gold and sunburnt skin beneath a veil of ambered cream.”
