Celine Fall/Winter 2020 Collection

The 70s, bourgeoisie, romanticism and rockstar glamour.

In line with Hedi Slimane’s partiality to the bourgeois ’70s, Celine’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection offers a revival of chic bourgeois classics in all of their shapes and forms. In a collection described as largely unisex, all of the boys were wearing silk blouses for a nod to romanticism with a sprinkling with rock-star glamour that can be flaunted by women as well.

Smooth velvet and new proportions dominated the collection, unmistakably noticeable in pieces like velvet maxi skirts embroidered with gold and silver leaves. The female models strutted down the runway with confidence in bow-neck shirts, frilled blouses, trim jackets and skinny flared pants. This season, Hedi also brought back Celine Sulky — an archive signature coming in the form of jewelry, bags, and belts. Gold-encrusted tunics over pants, slim evening dresses and a comprehensive range of coats all created a viable 70s-inspired wardrobe — a new adaptation of Celine’s heritage, courtesy of Hedi Slimane.
