Celine Spring/Summer 2020 Was a ’70s Dream

Hedi Slimane took a cue from the 1970s, and we’re not mad about it.

It’s been almost a year since Hedi Slimane took over as Celine’s new creative director, and his collections have been met with a variety of reactions, to say the least. This season, he found inspiration in Celine’s 1970s form, back when it was a chic Parisian destination store. The Celine girls we saw walk down the runway was at once effortless and glamorous, in flared denim, flowy blouses, blazers, aviator glasses, paisley prints, and gold lamé.
