The world-renowned Central Saint Martins University of the Arts, who boasts fashion’s most iconic alumni, collaborates with Lululemon for a second season, delivering a limited edition print collection motivated by the “Art of Motion”.

The Lululemon design team took a trip to Kyoto and gathered inspiration from local artisans and designers, observing the practice of traditional techniques passed down through generations. Sharing moments of these experiences with CSM, the MA students were encouraged to translate the brief of “Art in Motion” through this context.

The final six entires, selected by the design team, feature abstracted interpretations of mediums and techniques originating from Eastern cultures. From ceramic glazing to water color, the layering of calligraphy on acetate and screen printing found on Japanese ceramics, the Lululemon team digitized these interpretations and body-mapped the artwork onto three classic styles from Lululemon — The Speed Wunder Tight, Wunder Under, and Energy Bra — to evoke physical motion that flatter the natural contours of the human body.

The styles are printed on Nulux fabric that feels smooth to the touch, wicks off sweat, and offers a light-weight compression, suitable for outdoor workouts or intense fitness classes at your local Barry’s Bootcamp as Spring is technically upon us. Styles are available for a limited time only and can be found in all London stores, the Fifth Avenue flagship in New York, or online. Peep through the new pieces below.
