CFDA’s 2021 Fashion Awards Nominees and Honorees

The list of nominees includes the likes of Telfar Clemens, Miuccia Prada, and Marc Jacobs.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced a bevy of awards and honors featuring some of the fashion industry’s biggest names and buzzed about talents. The event is scheduled for November 10 in New York City and will mark the council’s first in-person award ceremony since last year’s cancellation. Chairman of the CFDA, Tom Ford, has compiled an impressive list of media figures, international labels, and rising brands for the prestigious awards that strive to honor excellence in all sectors of the industry.

First-time nominees include Maisie Schloss for Maisie Willen, Edvin Thompson for Theophilio, Kenneth Nicholson, Jerry Lorenzo for Fear of God, Eli Russell Linnetz for ERL, and Jameel Mohammed for KHIRY. Not only honoring rising talents, the awards include a who’s who of American fashion with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Telfar Clemens, Gabriela Hearst, Christopher John Rogers, Peter Do, and Thom Browne all nominated in various categories.

Names like Demna Gvasalia, Daniel Lee, Simon Porte Jacquemus, Grace Wales Bonner, Miuccia Prada, and Pierpaolo Piccoli have also been selected as nominees for various international awards. Coinciding with the impressive list of brands and creatives, the council is set to honor American designer and cultural icon Dapper Dan with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
