Chanel Beauty announces their newest and first limited-edition makeup collection designed with the Cometes Collective, formed by Valentina Li, Ammy Drammeh, and Cécile Paravina.

The Spring 2024 collection references the sea and remembers Gabrielle Chanel’s time spent along the shores of Deauville, France. Anchored in color, the makeup Collection embraces the allure of sea based hues. Adopting color as a medium of expression and a powerful means of embodying the complexity and richness of every individual, this season, Chanel Beauty takes color to new heights and deeper meanings with blue at the center of the collection.

Cometes Collective member Valentina Li takes inspiration from Chanel’s coastal milieu to imagine metallic, pearlescent hues that recall the textures and colors that exhilarated Gabrielle Chanel. Li is the first creator in the trio to express her unique inner world through the makeup collection, with more to come through the remainder of 2024, characterized by a shade of blue that expresses and embodies the heart of the ocean depths, the glimmers of reflected sunlight on the water’s surface, the iridescence of shells, and the undulating grace of jellyfish.

Including everything from eyeshadow to lipsticks to nail polish, the collection starts with the Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow quads, stamped with a rippled motif and can be applied with the included brushes. The Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in aquatic electric blue defines eyes with an effortless retractable tip. The Exclusive Creation Lumière de L’Ocean Illuminating Powder glistens like light on the water with an intense glow and a blue tint featuring a tidal interpretation of the double C monogram. The Les Vernis Longwear Nail Colour debuts two new shades — a light coral and a metallic sky blue — enriched with carefully selected pigments for even application.

To contrast with the shades of blue in the collection, Li imagines a palette of coral tones encapsulating the shades of pink and rose that exist beneath the ocean’s depths. When worn together, the blue and rosy hues warm up the complexion for a sun-kissed, fresh and feminine look.

The Exclusive Creation Roses Coquillage Powder Blush Duo introduces colors akin to vivid reefs. The soft coral and warm pink tones create dimension and give skin a flushed, rosy appearance. The Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick highlights with pink and gold flecks in a smooth texture that glides onto the skin to sculpt and add subtle sparkle. The Rouge Allure Laque Ultrawear Shine Liquid Lip Colour debuts a creamy liquid lipstick in rosy beige and brick red in a water-resistant formula for a bold color with a silky shine.

The Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Beautifying Tinted Lip Balm in muted brick red and orange beige transforms from sheer and lustrous to opaque and delicately luminous as it is absorbed. The formula envelops lips in a deeply hydrating oil, made from olive fruit and leaves, while its restorative and antioxidant properties offer better-looking lips day after day.
