The iconic Coco Mademoiselle fragrance has spent twenty-five years with CHANEL and hasn’t had a proper extension until now. The CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio has translated the fragrance into its first makeup collection, which launched on August 19; a date chosen intentionally, as it lands on Gabrielle Chanel’s birthday and the release of Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu, perfumer Olivier Polge’s new Eau de Parfum celebrating the line’s twenty-fifth year. The new scent and a new look, released in tandem, tell a story celebrating the legacy of Gabrielle Chanel by both honoring the past and innovating for the future.

Les 9 Ombres in The New Smoky is the centerpiece of the collection. Nine shadows sit in the palette: the satiny light rosy beige, shimmery taupe mauve, luminous matte red brown, satiny medium beige, soft pink colors sit alongside four shades of sparkling white, platinum, powder pink, and silvery purple. With buildable coverage, the palette can take you from day to night, worn sheer or smoky depending on the occasion.

Paired with the palette is a mauve lilac lipstick reformulated as lip care, gliding on with ease. For the first time, the house engraved the double C directly into the bullet: a small detail that elevates the lipstick from just another beauty launch to a memorable collector’s item.

The rest of the collection is sharp, classic, and minimal. Their Stylo Yeux Waterproof Brun Agapé comes in a satiny, bronzy brown for precision, pairing warmly with the Joues Contraste Intense in a warm rosewood named Rose Radiant. Lastly, their Le Vernis in Coco is a light, opaque, and delicate pink that elevates any style with a classic, subtle femininity.
