CHANEL Celebrates 1932 High Jewelry Collection With Starry Dinner
Attendees included Marion Cotillard, Phoebe Bridgers, and more
In 1932, Gabrielle Chanel created her first and only high jewelry collection, “Bijoux De Diamants.” Ninety years later, after significant brand evolution and cultural renovation, CHANEL is launching its commemorative 1932 High Jewelry Collection. To celebrate the launch, the luxury brand hosted a dinner party for some of the biggest names in culture and fashion. From Maggie Rogers to Jurnee Smollett, the stars came out in droves to celebrate CHANEL’s big day.
Among the attendees were stars of the film, music, and fashion world. Big-name actresses like Marion Cotillard, Whitney Peak, Kaitlin Dever, and Alexandra Shipp were all in attendance, as well as recent Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao. Music industry headliners like Phoebe Bridgers, Karen O, Maggie Rogers, and even Andra Day also showed face to celebrate the brand. The biggest names emblazoning our tabloids right now, from Lori Harvey to Sosie Bacon, were all present at this one-in-a-lifetime dinner.
Ultimately, the night was all about this new collection and a commemoration of the CHANEL brand. Attendees got an up close and personal viewing of the 1932 High Jewelry Collection, with pieces being shown throughout the night. Central to the collection (and thus the dinner) was the Allure Céleste necklace. Among round-cut diamonds is an oval sapphire of 55.55 carrots, radiating that deep sea blue, and a Type IIa DFL 8.05 carat pear-shaped diamond. The necklace shines above all, providing the perfect centerpiece for an evening of joy and nostalgia.
With ever-present dancing and a nightcap performance from the newly-reunited Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the CHANEL 1932 High Jewelry Collection dinner is one for the history books. The attendance and joy of the evening prove CHANEL’s brand power. Just like those 90 years ago, when Gabrielle Chanel was proving what fashion and luxury could mean, CHANEL has kept their ability to define the cultural standard.
