“From Cocteau to Coco,”  a distorted acoustic guitar plays in the mood board teaser that shows images from Jean Cocteau’s film Testament of Orpheus (1960), filmed at the Carrières de Lumières, are shown with letters sent from Cocteau to Gabrielle Chanel as evidence of their friendship.

The two had a fascination for bestiaries and the teaser shows the iconic man with a black horse’s head in Testament of Orpheus as well as the lion figures in Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31 rue Cambon, in Paris, photographed by Inez & Vinoodh. There are also photos of the Carrières de Lumières and of flowers from Provence also shot by the duo.

A separate teaser from Inez & Vinoodh in black and white shows the inside of the Carrières de Lumières with photos of models wearing the collection scattered throughout the place.

The film of the CHANEL Cruise 2021/22 collection show by Virginie Viard will be released on Tuesday, May 4 at 6 p.m. Paris time and 12 p.m. EST on chanel.com.
