Chanel Fall/Winter 2020

Chanel takes us back-to-basics.

Through a cloud of fog, models appeared in break-away trousers and signature tweed tops during the Chanel Fall Winter 2020 show. Virginie Viard’s Chanel takes us back-to-basics with a simpler, more relaxed take on the label. This collection is for the woman who can pull off any look in black leather boots—as did the models who all wore the same shoes.

The classic black and white suits dominated the collection with the exception of a few looks in green, blue and dark reds. Victorian-inspired puff and mutton sleeves added subtle volume to the silhouettes. The collection was shown in groups of girls, some matching and others wearing their own pieces to highlight the more intricate pieces. The contemporary cuts and lengths provide a look for any occasion.

Viard reminds us that Chanel is timeless. See below for a front-row view of the collection.
