Beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais — the historically chic venue of Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week residency — scenographer Willo Perron unwound a colossal bow. The black ribbon whirls across the floor before coiling into an airborne pirouette, emerging as the monumental backdrop for the CHANEL Fall Winter 2025/26 runway show.

The Maison’s latest collection revisits an array of its most cherished signatures, proportionally altering each one in a game of illusory vogue. Bows bloom over the collars and cuffs of blouses and dresses. Their curves swell on necklaces and drop down to the ankles of dazzling down jackets. The delicate motif is dipped in white and wrapped around a selection of sweaters, the final bow perched atop the shoulder, and voluminous ribbons accentuate dresses, cardigans, and sweaters.

Pearls are no longer exclusive to jewelry. An oversized version of the oceanic gem comprises a pair of heels, and cross-body bags masquerade as jumbo-sized pearl necklaces. A set of jewels is adorned with maximalist rhinestones, as illusions of scale command the collection.

Chanel’s timeless tweed fabrics are peppered throughout the collection, its founding fabrics remaining a runway staple and a thorough lesson in effective layering. A three-piece ensemble of grenadine tweed consists of a micro-jacket lined with bright red silk, a wrap skirt, and an eye-catching pair of flared trousers, while another in bronze tones features a tunic and trousers with a skirt expertly buttoned over.

Mini jackets in blue, white, and pink tweed are paired with dramatically long slacks, and a standout black mini tweed jacket is trimmed with braids, embracing the image of a long coat dress with jeweled buttons.

Ribbon motifs glide through the wind, as sleeveless blouson gilets and elongated ivory silk skirts undulate with each step. Delicacy prevails, as chiffon jeans and silk-looking tweeds shelter the body, and the collection emerges as an elegant exercise in the sphere of sartorial excellence.
