This coming winter, CHANEL is looking forward to snowflakes, ski slopes, and skating rinks for its Coco Neige 2023/24 collection. Releasing a collection full of vests, sweaters, and shearling, the French brand is crafting the modern snow bunny fit for the Alps with the Franco-American superstar.
Captured by Mikael Jansson, the actor fuses the worlds of ice sports and technical yet chic fashion, donning the youthful and feminine pieces throughout the campaign. “When I heard that we were going to be shooting at an ice-skating rink, I couldn’t help but think of Ice Princess, this movie I used to watch all the time when I was a little girl and I’d think, I want to be an ice skater too!” says Depp in a statement. “I never quite pursued the dream, but I loved that movie.”
Wearing a tight-fitting gold lamé jumpsuit, a technical satin ski suit with a shearling hood, as well as a printed velvet outfit, the collection itself seemingly references classic ‘70s and ‘80s styles through padded puffer coats, belted jumpsuits, and fluffy shearling boots. Icy weather is no match for the cozily chic mock necks and cardigans, offered in iconic Chanel patterns like the brand’s interlocking C’s and geometric shapes in a color palette of black and white with dashes of fuchsia pink and gold.
“I love how Virginie Viard always reinvents the codes of CHANEL, but in different ways,” says Depp. “Like the chain pattern on my sweater or a really cute little skirt that has a gold chain motif reminiscent of the jewelled belts and the costume jewellery. I love the way we get so attached to these patterns and we associate them with CHANEL, they’re so timeless and iconic.”
The CHANEL Coco Neige 2023/24 collection will be available in boutiques beginning October 17th.
