Curated by Zoe Lukov, this year’s edition brings together an electrifying mix of multigenerational, multidisciplinary artists whose practices transcend medium and expectation. Drawing on personal history, cultural memory, and radical imagination, each contributor was selected for their ability to reflect the spirit of innovation that defines both Tribeca and Chanel.

The initiative continues a two-decade tradition of honoring cinematic achievement through contemporary art. Since 2005, this unique collaboration has celebrated the synergy between film and visual arts by commissioning world-renowned artists to create original works gifted to Tribeca’s award-winning filmmakers.

This year’s artists include: Alteronce Gumby, Faith Wilding, Jane Dickson, Jeffrey Meris, Lauren Halsey, Marilyn Minter, Naudline Pierre, Raúl de Nieves, Simphiwe Ndzube, and Tuan Andrew Nguyen.

“For two decades, Tribeca and Chanel have stood together in support of artists who dare to tell new stories and challenge the limits of form and genre,” said Jane Rosenthal, Tribeca Festival Co-Founder and CEO. “This year’s Artist Awards cohort is a powerful reflection of that mission—visionary artists whose work, like the films they honor, demands we see the world differently.”

The current featured works span media ranging from plaster and pigment print to gold leaf, beads, and found fabric, each one chosen to match the energy and category of its corresponding festival award. Among the highlights: a silkscreen by Jane Dickson for Best Documentary Short, a radiant monotype by Naudline Pierre for Best U.S. Narrative Feature, and a vibrant textile piece by Raúl de Nieves for the Student Visionary Award.

“As I started to think about whom to invite for this prestigious award, I realized that many of the artists I consider to be genius in their approach can’t be defined by any one medium at all,” said Zoe Lukov. “Much like the filmmakers who will win one of these generously-donated artworks, they all are rooted in the knowledge of our past while pushing us to imagine new futures.”

Inspired by Tribeca’s mission of revitalizing New York’s creative spirit after 9/11, the Artist Awards Program continues to affirm the city’s role as a nexus between artistic and cultural innovation. Chanel’s longstanding support of the initiative reflects its profound relationship with the arts. Together, they honor the past while shaping the future of storytelling.

All selected works will be on view at the Tribeca Festival Hub at Spring Studios throughout the festival.
