Chanel’s Ephemeral Boutique is a Parisian Escape in East Hampton

Cocktail party and dinner celebrates new shop with an exclusive guest list

The countdown begins! Starting September 5, Chanel’s new two-floor Hamptons boutique will be open to the public, a traditional Parisian-style getaway full of handbags, tweed staples, and silhouettes from the Coco Beach swimwear and Métiers d’art 2021/22 collections.

Inside Chanel’s charming European fantasy is a glamorous summer haven with the modernness of Mademoiselle Chanel and the opulence of Gabrielle Chanel’s storied Paris salon. The luxury fashion house’s staple colors of black, white, and gold meet cream-colored couches and carpet to bring a minimalist chicness to the intimate layout.

While the boutique’s upstairs is reserved for private appointments, the first-floor walls are filled with Ready-to-Wear, eyewear, fine jewelry, and shoes, from lose denim and signature tweed to newcomer bag Chanel 22.

On Saturday, Chanel hosted a cocktail party and dinner in celebration of the space, a 2500 square foot boutique located at 26 Newtown Lane in the heart of East Hampton. Actors, creators, and industry leaders gathered for the summer event before heading off to dinner at Baker House, the luxurious Hamptons B&B with an English charm to its 17th century architecture.
