In an exclusive collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Joshua Vides, FENDI has dreamed up a dynamic Pre-fall 2020 collection. Designed by Silvia Venturini, the black-and-white range peppered with sky blue and wisteria violet touches channels that free-spirited Californian vibe via ready-to-wear pieces and accessories — all sporting the artist’s signature cartoon-like treatment.
Deemed one of the most interesting figures in the contemporary art scene, Vides has worked his distinct and recognizable style into luxurious garments. In addition to creating the charming 3D, trompe l’oeil effects by mapping the seams and edges of a range of urban and resort styles, the artist has also reinterpreted a vibrant, whimsical floral allover motif and reworked the FENDI Stamps and the iconic FF logo, splashing them over a degrade background inspired by the shades of the Roman sky.
The eye-catching decorative motifs conceived by Joshua Vides give an artsy, audacious attitude to the urban staples and resort styles featured in the womenswear range. Placing major focus on lightweight fabrications, the collection is comprised of a large range of garments — from street-savvy nylon windbreakers, embossed cycling shorts, compact knits and printed denim pants to luxurious featherweight fur coats and cardigans, reversible padded blousons, perforated leather jackets and elegant evening styles crafted from a textured cloqué jacquard fabric. The range also accounts for those summer beach escapes, with kaftans and poplin shirt dresses shown next to beachwear and activewear for an energetic, dynamic vibe.
The same graphic extravaganza defines the Men’s selection, where trompe l’oeil effects, shaded details, flowers and revisited FF logo patterns give a twist to cotton jackets, satin blousons, embossed leather outerwear, sweatshirts, T-shirts, denim pants, cotton trousers, Bermuda pants and accessories. The family-friendly range is completed with kids’ collection, also filled with Joshua Vides’ graphics, the black and white marker style and the revisited FF logo, adding a fun touch to children’s windbreakers, cotton shirts, shorts, hyper-feminine dresses, slip-on sneakers and backpacks.
Vides’ marker style can even be seen FENDI’s iconic accessories — from the Peekaboo and Baguette iconic bags to the signature Colibrì sling-backs and FF Fluid sock sneakers crafted from polished leather. The collection is now available to shop online on FENDI.com. ]
