Charli XCX Released a Fan-Shot Video For “Forever”

A product of collaborative effort from Charli’s angels.

As time goes on, the circumstances of being under lockdown and socially distancing from practically anyone proves to be fertile soil for creativity and discovering your inner talents. And Charli XCX was quick to notice this.

Last week, the songstress turned to her fans for help with the video for her latest song titled “Forever” via an Instagram post. Given the instructions such“express yourself in your room,” “show us your pets” and “film your hand picking up & holding a sentimental object of yours,” the followers were encouraged to “make it cute” and “create something amazing together.” And the results did not disappoint.

On April 17, Charli has shared the product of this collective effort — what turned out to be a tapestry of cute quarantine scenes and videos that take you on a virtual tour of people’s homes and favorite moments shared in their phones. Edited by filmmaker Dan Streit, the clip truly made us feel like we’re all in this together.

Besides, Charli XCX has previously opened “Forever” up to fans by providing the stems for the track on social media. The cover art was also offered up for interpretation, reflecting the singer’s open and intimate approach to her upcoming studio album How I’m Feeling Now due for a May 15 release.
