Charli XCX Releases Lizzo Music Video, Announces Album and Tour

Charli XCX just popped off with her triple announcement for a new album, tour and music video.

Forty tour dates, 15 tracks, one album and one music video—all new. Pop icon and ruler of our hearts Charli XCX dropped this momentous announcement today, sending her mob of diehard fans into a frenzy of unadulterated anticipation.

The self-titled album, Charli, will be the musician’s third studio album and is set to drop Sept. 13th via Atlantic Records. The V78 cover girl placed collaboration at the heart of the album, working with the likes of HAIM, CupcakKe and Sky Ferreira. With over half of the album’s songs carrying features, Charli creates a single meeting place for the wide spectrum that is popular music.

Previously released, certified bops like the cyberpunk “1999” featuring Troye Sivan and anti-love anthem “Blame It on Your Love“ featuring Lizzo will make it on the LP, too. What’s more, our inner-Matrix alter egos are dying at the sight of Charli’s closing track: “2099” featuring Troye Sivan. The pair performed the yet-to-be-released track, a sequel to “1999,” at their single-day LGBTQ event Go West Fest in L.A. last week.

In addition to the album and tour announcement, the vibrant pop star finally dropped the music video for “Blame It on Your Love” featuring V119 cover queen Lizzo. The video, which the artists have long been teasing on their socials, was directed by Bradley & Pablo. Alone, Charli XCX and Lizzo are powerhouses in their own right. Together they’re dynamite. Both starlets have mercilessly carved out a place for themselves in the saturated sphere of pop with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The Charli LIVE tour, with support from Tommy Genesis, Brooke Candy, Dorian Electra & Allie X, will kick off in Atlanta on Sept. 20th, a week after the album’s release. Snag tickets to the tour, with 21 domestic and 19 European stops, on June 21st.
