Check Out the New Elton John Exhibit Online for Free

The Morrison Hotel have launched a virtual Elton John exhibition which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

As the weeks progress, we all need new ways to deal with life in quarantine. By now you’ve probably exhausted most of your boredom buster, and you’re looking for something new to keep you entertained. Well…we’ve just found the perfect visual treat to help keep you stimulated. The Morrison Hotel has launched an online Elton John exhibit and the best part is…it’s free!

The virtual exhibition, ‘SIR: A Retrospective of Rock Royalty,’ focuses on the iconic Elton John. It features many photos by famed photographers, Terry O’Neill and Norman Parkinson. The retro pictures show the legendary “Rocket Man” performing in his youthful heyday.

The images capture the spirit and essence of the megastar performing in front of thousands of people embellished in sequins, feathers, and fringe. In addition, to action shots and more intimate snaps of the singer. For instance, portraits of the star sat at a table, making a phone call, and hanging out with close friends. The decision to launch virtual exhibitions now seems to be the way forward for all cultural institutions.

Until COVID-19 life is over, it’s going to be a minor struggle to get your cultural fix. Right now museums and galleries are doing their best to tackle that. Last week, the Met Museum announced that a virtual Met Ball will take place this year. The special event encourages people to dress up at home and explore this year’s theme. Today, Dior has announced that their popular Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition will be available to view online. Chanel is also offering fashion lovers a virtual tour of the Chanel Flower fields in Grasse. The fields are filled with the flowers that create Channels coveted perfumes. Each year the house harvests Iris, Jasmine, Rose, Tuberose, and Geranium to create its luxury scents.

Sir: A Retrospective of Rock Royalty premiered on April 2nd. You can see it online now, as well as prints for sale that were autographed by John. Check out some of the photos in the slideshow below.
