Chicago’s Finest: The Off-White™ and Chicago Bulls Collection

The collection celebrates Virgil Abloh’s deep passion for basketball and his hometown.

In a celebration of the legendary, late Virgil Abloh’s love for basketball and his hometown,  Off-White™ is partnering with the Chicago Bulls on the latest FARFETCH BEAT capsule collection. FARFETCH BEAT is the brand new retail concept series by FARFETCH Limited, the global destination for modern luxury, and offers exclusive product experiences to worldwide consumers.

Abloh, who passed away in Nov. 2021 after a private battle with cancer, was known for his admiration of the sport, and released multiple collaborations with the NBA during his time as the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear. Along with his work at LV, Abloh began the streetwear brand Pyrex Vision in 2012 and founded his first fashion house, Off-White™, the following year. Despite passing so early into his career, Abloh created a long-lasting impact, revolutionizing the world of streetwear with his designs.

The idea for the partnership arose through a conversation between the CEO of Off-White™ Andrea Grilli, designer Don C and the Abloh family. A portion of the collection’s proceeds will be donated to the Virgil Abloh foundation.

With four limited edition designs, the Off-White™ c/o Chicago Bulls capsule collaboration honors Abloh’s deep passion for basketball and the city of Chicago, where he was born.

Each of the four items – a t-shirt, hoodie and two exclusively patched Varsity Jackets – showcase a brand new logo, especially designed for the collaboration. The red and cream iteration of the jacket offers a nod to the concept of debut seasons – the Bulls in 1966 and Off-White™ in 2013. The second colorway offered is a navy and steel gray Varsity Jacket, emblazoned with the team’s mascot, Benny the Bull. Double quotation marks make reference to the late Abloh and his enduring mission to question everything.

The hoodie and t-shirt offer a more subtle version of the jacket’s iconography, with a simple “Off White” on the front and the “Bulls” and “Abloh” along the back. Both items feature the return of Benny the Bull.

The collaboration debuted in Paris last month when the Bulls came to town, facing the Detroit Pistons as part of the NBA’s second-ever regular season in France.

If you’re a Chicago fan or just an Off-White™ enthusiast, the capsule will be available for purchase in select Off-White™ stores, on the Off-White™ website and exclusively on FARFETCH.
