There´s no denying it—we live in dark times. But these pockets of social unrest throughout history have often birthed some of our most beloved art, whether it be direct or escapist in nature. Singer-songwriter Chløë Black seems to find the middle ground between those two approaches. "Good Times", premiering today on V, serves up melancholic lyrics over a South African house beat, illustrating dreams of getting high with a loved one and inhabiting a place that is equally as fun as it is painful, not to mention ephemeral in nature. The song was produced by Crow and written with Alex Winston of Post Precious.

Black is slowly yet surely proving herself to be one of the most entrancing emerging songwriters out there today. Her knack for creating both audio and visual Xanax is building a world familiar to our own—confusing and inconsistent—but with an added pinch of much-needed beauty.

Check out the premiere here, and keep following Black to stay a part of her world.
