Odds are you’ve listened to Chloe Fineman crack a joke on a Saturday night before—but have you ever heard her do it over a rotary phone while snuggled under hotel sheets? Now you can. The ultra-hilarious, algorithm-shattering SNL comedian has teamed up with the beloved Moxy Hotels to write and record a series of exclusive holiday bedtime stories, all accessible from in-room rotary phones at every Moxy across the U.S. and Canada. Playing on the chaos of travel and family dynamics faced during the holiday season, Fineman delivers impression-packed tales, from “The Guilt Trip,” “Merry Peachmas,” and more, that effortlessly lift the mood of holiday travelers as they drift off to sleep. To celebrate the launch, Fineman performed a live reading of one of the tales at the Moxy Williamsburg—a fitting kickoff for a series that will charm guests through February 2026. V had the pleasure of sitting down with the woman herself and get the inside scoop on all that went into this one-of-a-kind collab.

V Magazine: Your Moxy stories are both truly comedic and soothing, especially “Guilt Trip” and “The Staycatian”. How were you able to balance both of goals/emotions in creating the stories and audios?
Chloe Fineman: I pulled a lot from personal experience, which helped keep the stories grounded even as we leaned into the comedy. The holidays can feel chaotic and overwhelming, so it was fun to contrast that energy with the soothing shift that happens when you escape to a hotel and slip into a different persona. And while many people go home for the holidays, not everyone actually enjoys it, so we played with that tension to create stories that are both funny and comforting at the same time
V: These stories tap into the chaos and exhaustion that can come from the Holidays whether it be related to sleep, work, or family. Do you have any holiday stories that shaped these stories? If you were to do a staycation during the holidays or any other time, what would you want it to look like?

CF: I definitely pulled from some real holiday chaos! One year, I was taking off my nail polish and somehow managed to set my mom’s chest on fire. Truly traumatizing, and something that definitely won’t be happening again. So yes, there was plenty of personal material to draw from. As for a staycation, I actually love doing them around the holidays when I’m up in Northern California visiting family. Slipping away for a night, finding a great hotel, and spending way too much time in the hot tub is my ideal reset.
V: How has your time in New York influenced the types the partnerships and collaborations you want to take on-like this one?
CF: Living in New York has really shaped the kinds of partnerships I gravitate toward because I always want to collaborate with brands that feel genuinely authentic to my life. Moxy has had a strong presence in my New York experience, whether it’s going to events there or having friends stay at the hotels when they’re in town because they’re so convenient – this partnership felt like a naturally great fit.

V: These bedtime stories are audio-only. How does only having sound as a factor change the way that you deliver your lines and build these universes?
CF: I definitely lean into the characters more with audio-only stories, thinking about the pace, the personalities, and the way the characters articulate things, because sound is the whole universe. It actually felt very natural for me, since I’ve actually done a lot of voiceover work in my career. Stepping into these stories felt a lot like stepping into that world, so I was already comfortable building everything through voice alone.
V: Your impression go viral non-stop. When you’re not in character, what are some of your own obsessions and comedy go-to’s?
CF: When I’m not in character, my biggest obsession is anything consumer-related. I truly love to buy things, and shopping is basically a hobby for me. I’m always chasing new forms of self-care, especially since I rarely have time for it. I’m devoted to this little foot-massage place in New York that somehow hasn’t blown up yet, and honestly, I’m trying to turn the entire city into my personal Sunday spa.

V: If someone created a bedtime story for you, what would your dream version sound like? What types of characters would be involved?
CF: My dream bedtime story would be a chorus of sexy male voices – famous or not – gently lulling me to sleep with lots of positive affirmations. Truly just a lineup of soothing, confidence-boosting compliments delivered in very comforting tones. That’s my ideal personal sleep soundtrack.
