Chloe x Halle Are the Newest Faces of Fendi’s #MeAndMyPeekaboo Video Series

The music duo got the chance to choose their own creative team for the episode.

Fendi has always had a knack for female empowerment since its start in 1925. Now, working with Chloe and Halle Bailey, known as the music duo Chloe x Halle, the luxury fashion house takes this reputation a step further. For the first time in Fendi’s history, they’re giving the female artists complete creative control of the newest episode for the Fendi #MeAndMyPeekaboo video series.

Chloe x Halle are not only the latest models for the iconic Fendi Peekaboo bag – which sports a new design – but they were also granted creative freedom to style and produce this project in its entirety. The duo chose to shoot the video in their Los Angeles home and collaborated with art director Andrew Makadsi, videographer Derek Milton, and photographer Julian Dakdouk to capture their vision of an unbreakable intimacy between two sisters.

The ever-present theme of familial bonding is definitely strong in the #MeAndMyPeekaboo project. Past talent in the ongoing series includes Kim Kardashian West, Kris Jenner and North West, twin sisters Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder, and mother-daughter duo Catherine Zeta-Jones and Carys Douglas, among others.

The newest video features Chloe x Halle in a dreamy, summer-inspired setting, initially participating in a fancy tea party scenario and transitioning to a radiant poolside scene. The duo sport sleek dresses from Fendi’s Pre-fall 2020 Collection alongside the newly designed Peekaboo classic. The wardrobe, styled by the duo’s personal stylist Zerina Akers, is both stunning and powerful, and the background track, “Busy Boy” from their critically acclaimed album Ungodly Hour, just adds to the confidence and elegance that exudes from the video.

The new Peekaboo, which was presented back in February as part of Fendi’s Fall-Winter 2020 Collection, features an accordion-frame shape and is interchangeable in smooth leather or precious skins. The versatility of the bag and its ability to be dressed up for a classy event or dressed down for everyday wear continues to make it a staple investment for fashionistas everywhere.

“Fendi is the perfect mixture of classy and sexy, and we were more than happy to be a part of this project. We have always been huge fans of Fendi and working side by side as sisters is truly a blessing,” said Chloe x Halle.

“#MeAndMyPeekaboo celebrates the intimate family relationships that represent inseparable bonds,” said Fendi Creative Director Silvia Venturini Fendi. “There is no more visible pair of sisters right now than Chloe x Halle.”

Chloe x Halle have gotten major traction on social media lately, and not just for their singing chops. The multi-hyphenates have been vocal about system racism and police brutality on their public platforms in support of Black lives. They famously pushed back the release of their second studio album, Ungodly Hour, which was originally set to release on June 5, to stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement after George Floyd’s murder.

“With everything going on in the world, it’s so easy to get down and give in to the uncertainty of the future,” said Chloe x Halle. “But this year 2020 is not over yet, and through the darkest times, come the most beautiful sunrises. Don’t be afraid to continue speaking up for justice, and for what’s right. Let’s make the future generations proud of us.”

The #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign will launch globally at the end of this month and the modern Peekaboo bag will hit stores starting in August.
