Christian Cowan Takes It to the Streets for SS26 Collection

There is beauty in contradiction and power in unexpected forms in Christian Cowan’s S/S 2026 collection.
Christian Cowan’s newest collection for spring and summer creates conversation amongst the pieces. With sheer fabrics that are embroidered with marabou feathers, a unique motion comes to life. Silk skirts with subtle looks of undergarments underneath create a blurry line between private and public. Additionally, silk chiffon pieces create a core palette for the collection, in shades of ballet pink, buttermilk, and black.

Five pieces from the collection were made in collaboration with Elias Matso, an emerging designer whom Cowan admires. The two created pieces with twists, steel-boned corsets, crystal mesh, and draped shells of viscose jersey to manipulate the body into looking like a wrung-out towel.

Aside from the clothing, creating dialogue, the accessories do as well. Sol de Janeiro was the exclusive Body and Fragrance Partner of the show, with scents from the body care brand putting the finishing touch on the collection. Footwear was provided by DSW, which elevated each look into its own while still telling a story.
Intricacy remains a huge part of the storyline for this collection, to allow delicacy and force be one. However, the biggest conversation translated in this collection is his familial spirit of MoanÞa into his current life in New York. Redefining that sense of strength, finding power in unexpected forms and beauty in contradiction was important to Cowan, and easily seen throughout the collection.
