Christian Louboutin’s Newest Collection Is A Greek Escape

Just in time for summer, this whimsical, expressive collection honors culture and travel in a vibrant manner

Emerge yourself in a European vacation with Christian Louboutin’s newest capsule collection, a continuation of the designer’s ‘Caba’ series, which honors his love of travel and appreciation of artisanal craftmanship. This season, Greekaba follows adventures in Athens and the Cyclades, inspired by the land and sea of Greece in a series of colorful and intricate designs.

A collaboration with illustrator Konstantin Kakanias, the designs follow the fictional Miss Tependris and her poodle Pepe, paying tribute to the rich culture of the Mediterranean and Greek folk art. Offered in two exclusive styles, the Greekaba is designed on a smooth leather base, with playful motifs depicting scenes of friendship and offering. Embossed leather details point to ancient Greek pottery, and both bags are lined with new vivid prints: Loubieye and Loubi Odissey.

The land design is comprised of earthy tones, while the sea is a palette of blues and whites infamous to Greece. The handles, embellished with satin and metal pearls, add an air of sophistication and elegance. Both concepts are offered in smaller styles, with Carasky being a smaller bucket bag and the Loubiphore a tall narrow silhouette.

Alongside the Greekaba is a capsule collection of both men’s and women’s shoes and accessories, their designs taken from the land and sea themes explored in the handbags.

A portion of proceeds from this collection will benefit ‘Together for Children’ a Greek non-profit association comprised of nine organizations with the goal of creating educational programs for children and assisting their families in need.

You can shop the Greekaba capsule collection beginning June 1 at Bergdorf Goodman, select Christian Louboutin Boutiques and www.christianlouboutin.com
