Christopher Smith Redefines Modernity for Acne Studios’ Fall Campaign

Photographer’s dreamy vintage self-portraits celebrate Drop 3 of Acne Studios’ Fall/Winter Menswear Collection

In 2021, South African photographer Christopher Smith partnered with Acne Studios to create the cover and opening portfolio of Acne Paper, a book celebrating the rich history of the brand’s past looks and themes from the magazine’s archive. This year, the creative partnership is back for the visuals Acne Studios’ Fall/Winter menswear campaign, an eclectic shoot imagined by Smith yet again.

Known for his self-portraits, Smith’s interpretation of the collection is bold and old-timey, featuring the artist himself as a 70s hippy, disco idol, aviator, and lumberjack, dressed in Drop 3 of Acne Studios’ latest arrivals. “I’m so grateful to #JonnyJohansson and the #AcneStudios team for their trust and support for my interpretation of their work”, writes Smith on a recent Instagram post.

The exclusive photographs that dropped August 18 are a preview fo the upcycled patched denim and trench coats that can be found throughout the collection. It is available to shop now in stores and online.
