Allora, what makes this collection so special? David Koma dives into the seductive mystique of Sicily, a land of sun-drenched beauty and simmering intensity. His muse is the Sicilian woman, the kind immortalized in old film reels. She is enigmatic, irresistible, and impossible to tame.

Set against a backdrop evoking Stromboli’s black sands, the runway channels the soul of Sicily. At the core of the collection is the Sicilian thistle, an enduring symbol of resilience. Its thorny elegance is threaded through prints, intricate embroidery, and metallic accents. Botanical motifs, central to Mediterranean identity, also appear in delicate renderings throughout.
To add his signature touch, Koma turns metal adornments into a defining element, seen in floral hardware, eyelets, studs, rings, and paillettes. These accents appear alongside three-dimensional floral and butterfly appliqués, masterfully embroidered or cut into delicate lace and sheer fabrics. Embroidery, notably, emerges as a recurring motif rooted in Italian craftsmanship.

Building on the revival of corsetry, coats and cabans are transformed with trimmed shearling, structured bodices, and sharply defined bustiers. Meanwhile, tailored jackets with Madonna necklines capture the elegance of old-school Italian screen muses.
Yet, despite Koma’s signature edgy contrasts, Blumarine’s romantic sensuality remains untouched. The house’s bustier dresses, crinoline structures, and corsetry continue to reinforce a hyper-feminine aesthetic.
