CNMI Camera Club Opens Flash-Forward: Italian Brands
CNMI Camera Club’s latest endeavor tracks the progress of five Italian designers.
Flash-Forward Italian Brands: The Last 5 Years is the newest video-exhibition supporting the program of initiatives created by CNMI Camera Club and has set the base for the collaboration with the National Chamber for Italian Fashion. The exhibition, curated by Giangi Giordano and shot by Francesco Petroni, debuted May 2019 on the High Line in New York. The project has been dedicated to the promotion of contemporary designers and brands towards national and international buyers, media, and other creative markets.
The program has expanded in both form and content, exclusively focusing on videos produced by the brands, including their unpublished materials. The exhibition features 8 new designers: Archivio, Danilo Paura, M1992, Magliano, Marco Rambaldi, Nono Leni, United Standard, Vitelli Maglieria Italiana. Each have established themselves over the past 5 years, presenting collections which have disrupted the fashion hierarchy through their impressive precision and attention to detail.
Flash-Forward: Italian Brands: The Last 5 Years displays a visual glimpse into what is expected for the future of fashion. The considerations for imagery, communication, graphic design and music have become integral parts of these emerging brands, each establishing an aesthetic that joins hedonism and antagonism, characterized by the youth cultures in Italy from 1970s onwards.
