What do the COVID era and early 2000s have in common? Instant messaging. Coach brought back the kitschy desktop style for the launch of their Swinger Bag, an archival piece from the house’s extensive vaults. To help them make the announcement, they recruited internet icon Rickey Thompson, singer Kim Petras, and all-around diva Paris Hilton.

In the promo video, the three can be seen showing off their new digs and excitedly tapping away on their retro PCs. The theme of Coach’s holiday campaign is “Holiday Is Where You Find It,” an ode to the mandated social distancing we all find ourselves in. Right now, DMs and Facetime reign as an outlet for togetherness.

The Swinger Bag is a reimagined piece dating back to the ’80s, and arrives just in time to see the domination of short shoulder bags, a la the baguettes of the late 90s and early 00s. The Swinger Bag also features Coach’s classic turn-lock closure and comes in a wide range of colors and prints.
