Coach’s Fall 2022 Collection Takes Us To Suburbia

Coach’s new Fall 2022 “somewhere in America” collection at New York Fashion Week symbolizes the theme’s existence as one within the suburbs.

Coach’s Fall 2022 collection by Creative Director Stuart Vevers who first assumed the role in 2013, made its debut at New York Fashion Week. This season’s collection’s setting is reminiscent of the suburbs with the essence of “somewhere in America.” The runway featured housing-like structures and picket white fences while models strode the sidewalk-like runway in ensembles representative of the collection’s conceptualization and mise en scène.

Its introductory scene displayed sunlight cascading against sycamore leaves followed by a woman sitting inside at a presumed dining table, speaking on an old-fashioned telephone. Her attire and aesthetic highlight one of decades past. Focus was then emphasized on a woman walking an Afghan dog while children perched on a house roof. Another woman proceeded to enter a house with a brown-paper grocery bag as other children rode bicycles through the cul-de-sac area.

The men’s and women’s collection’s color palette included a combination of warm and earth-toned shades of beige, mahogany, grey, peach, and bursts of neon green and yellow. Its ensembles featured oversized and graffitied trench coats, above the knee (knitted) dresses, those with classic collars, skirts, bralettes, flared capris, graphic tees, and leather pieces. Accompanied footwear and accessories included baseball caps, boots, booties, single strap handbags, retro shades, kitten heels. Models also sported chokers with silver COACH keys and paired with single earring arrangements with keychain-like elements.
