Taking over Manhattan with a fierce juxtaposition, Coach’s Creative Director Stuart Vevers strikes again. Hypnotically harmonizing American classicism with Gen-Z-approved motifs, the new Fall/Winter 2024 collection resuscitates the Coach legacy in all the right places. In a subtle hint to Gossip Girl, the scene was set at the James B. Duke House on New York’s Upper East Side, where the collection was enlivened via archival-inspired Coach décor. Guests were offered an exclusive look at the collection with the “Coach Club of New York City,” and ID cards filled out by the Coach Family as they entered the house. Music director Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes created a contemporary iteration of the Audrey Hepburn classic “Moon River” from the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s that fueled the soundtrack.

With textiles affixed to the Coach house, pieces were dipped in playfully distressed leather, denim, and cotton. Tailoring and dress silhouettes exist in the form of tuxedo jackets and trousers, uniquely contrasted with collegiate hoodies and custom school blazers emblazoned with Coach crests and the initials and last names of the models who walked the show, adding a personal touch. Outerwear offerings are in icons like the trench coat, leather, and shearling jackets. Drawing from workwear materials, the collection also introduces a refreshed version of the cardigan jacket.
Coach’s continued strives for circular fashion stood present in pre-loved bags and materials, adding to Vevers’ concept of redefining craft and setting a sustainable tone for mundane materials. Additionally, voluminous taffeta party dresses were reinvented into tops and skirts. Brazen moto boots completed a portion of the collection’s ensembles.

Coach’s New York leather goods collection was infused into the show, debuting the Empire Carryall in the house’s iconic leathers. The latest version of the Tabby bag, dubbed the Times Square Tabby, is presented in worn-washed nappa and velvet.

Looks were decorated with charms inspired by timeless New York souvenirs, including figurines of the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, yellow taxis, bulky red apples, touristy mugs, and printed postcards with messages corresponding to each model.

A handful of curated pieces from Fall 2024, including the Brooklyn bag and a limited series of Coach (Re)Loved bags, are available for purchase online now and at Coach SoHo and Coach House on Fifth Avenue. Coach FW24 emphasizes the eccentricity and myriad of attributes one can find in a place like New York. With playful luxury at the fore, the new collection is romantically constructed for generations to fall in love, over and over again.
