Concept Korea Spring/Summer 21 NYFW Collection

The fashion collective hailing from Korea presents three emerging designers at this season’s NYFW.

Fashion collective Concept Korea returns to New York Fashion Week with three talented designers under their umbrella: WNDERKAMMER, ul:kin, and JARRET

Aimed at presenting up-and-coming Korean designers to the international fashion sphere, Concept Korea’s ongoing collaborative process has paved a path of multi-continental visibility for emerging Korean designers breaking into the global industry since their NYFW launch in 2010. Their Spring/Summer 2021 showcase at this year’s runway showed the distinct uniqueness of the three designers they presented.

WNDERKAMMER’s collection was conceived in Dessau, Germany, with the Bauhaus Masters’ Houses, and the serene, crisp color palette goes with it. Iconic Bauhaus tones of gray, beige, and red are interwoven with inspiration from industrial architects and designers including Joe Colombo, Florence Knoll, and Le Corbusier. The collection breathes minimalism and contemporary feminine beauty using vegan leather and organic linen. Simple, fluid silhouettes of long-line dresses and pantsuits are muted, easy, and delicate.

The SS21 collection by ul:kin epitomizes the theory that opposites attract, both visually and functionally. The modern, adaptable wear is suited for the adventurous and urban lifestyles, staying true to the brand’s mission of upcycling via deconstruction and reconstruction while being flexible around the changes brought by the pandemic. More than 70% of the funky, eclectic collection is made using vintage or recycled fabrics, and the pieces make heavy use of Regen—the world’s first eco-friendly, heavy-duty nylon thread. Printed silk charmeuse shirt and pant sets evoke the grace of Spring, while bulky fabrics and shapes with modern prints and patterns recall the fast-paced lifestyle the collection was made for.

JARRET brings the imagination of love and love in the imagination to its SS21 collection, which seeks to transport one to a phantasmagorical state. The new wave of elevated athleisure is displayed in the line, including pieces like a knee-length lace tunic hoodie and wide-leg silk trousers. For the lively personality, the active lifestyle, and the energetic aura, JARRET uses high-tech functional fabrics that block UV rays to create cool comfortability.
