There seems to be no rest for VMAN cover star and Heated Rivalry heartthrob, Connor Storrie. This week, Verizon unveiled a short horror film ad, “Look Behind You”, starring the beloved breakout actor.

In his first brand short, Storrie acts as the protagonist, with 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple director Nia DaCosta behind the camera—a much-anticipated collaboration since speculation began after the two were seen together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

In the film, Storrie gets trapped in a cabin in the woods (naturally), and begins to get an eerie feeling when all the electronics begin to have a mind of their own. Through mysterious phone calls, flickering lights, and unlocking doors, anticipation thickens, only revealing the “intruder” might have been behind his back the whole time—merely Storries butt, triggering smart-home activations from his phone. “Service so good, it’s scary,” Storrie says in realization.

“From the concept to execution, this was an incredibly collaborative and creatively fulfilling experience,” the actor says. “Verizon is a brand that really understands storytelling and culture, so they fully leaned into the idea. And working with visionary director Nia DaCosta took everything to another level.”
