Converse and the Black Image Center Continue Partnership
Converse continues their partnership with the Black Image Center in a new campaign, celebrating Black Joy.
Converse is celebrating Black History Month by launching a new campaign in partnership with the Black Image Center. The campaign, created to honor and celebrate Black heritage and joy, will feature partnerships between the brand and the creators and co-founders of the Black Image Center.
Though the campaign will primarily live on social media with images shot by photographer Atiba Jefferson and a video created by videographer Ayinde Anderson, there will also be several co-created programming initiatives between Converse and the Black Image Center. These programs are designed to provide opportunities for emerging Black creators in the Los Angeles area, and eventually around the country.
The Black Image Center’s mission is to provide accessible photography services to young artists from historically disenfranchised communities. This most recent campaign is the latest in a series of community-centered programs created between the Black Image Center and Converse, who began working together last year.
The two groups will continue their partnership throughout the year, working to empower Black creatives to take control over the narrative of the Black experience by providing them access to equipment and the opportunity to tell their stories.
