Courrèges Appoints Drew Henry as New Creative Director

With experience shaped at Céline, JW Anderson, and Burberry, the South African designer steps into Courrèges to define its next evolution
Courrèges has appointed Drew Henry as creative director, opening a new chapter for the French house after Nicolas Di Felice’s five-year tenure leading its creative direction. Henry’s appointment takes effect in May 2026, and he is set to present his debut collection for Courrèges during Paris Fashion Week in September.

A South African-born designer from Mpumalanga, Henry began his training in Johannesburg before completing his MA in Fashion at Central Saint Martins in London, graduating in 2014 under the late Louise Wilson. His career has moved through some of the most influential studios of the past decade. He started at Céline during Phoebe Philo’s tenure, later became Design Director for ready-to-wear at JW Anderson, rejoined Philo for the launch of her namesake label, and most recently served as Senior Design Director at Burberry under Daniel Lee.
Across these roles, his work has been shaped by an understanding of clothing as something functional and direct, an approach that closely aligns with Courrèges’ original vision. Founded in 1961 by André and Coqueline Courrèges, the house built its identity on a forward-looking idea of modernity, where design responded to the realities of contemporary life rather than excess. In his words, Henry has emphasized an interest in clothing that feels “modern, useful, and direct,” positioning his approach as one of refinement and continuity.
