Courrèges Presents a Playful Collection

Creative Director Drew Henry unveiled his debut collection with the French fashion house

Courrèges has an understated relevance that can sometimes leave it overlooked by mainstream fashion enthusiasts. Yet since its founding in the 1960s, the house has maintained a creative direction that was remarkably ahead of its time. Often associated with the “Space Age” aesthetic, Courrèges built its visual language around pop colors, patent leather, and futuristic silhouettes, while its distinctive logo and retro approach to tailoring became signatures across coats and dresses. More than 60 years later, the fashion house remains closely connected to the styles and aesthetics upon which it was built, now reimagined through a modern lens.

The newest of these modern touches comes with the appointment of Drew Henry as creative director. His debut show offered a first look at his vision for the house, as well as his potential to bring Courrèges further into the mainstream. While the futuristic elements of the brand have often pushed it toward the avant-garde, much of Henry’s collection felt distinctly wearable. The opening looks arrived in soft cream, carrying familiar Courrèges signatures through structured silhouettes, oversized buttons, and the house’s recognizable logo. From there came peacoats, skirts, dresses, and bra tops in the vibrant colors long associated with Courrèges, balancing the brand’s distinctive visual identity with a sense of functionality.

While imagining the future of Courrèges, Henry also seems to have considered the reality of the product itself. His pieces are wearable and modern while remaining true to the themes that have long defined the house. Rather than reinventing Courrèges entirely, Henry has established a foundation from which the brand can continue to evolve.
