Dan Colen On His Summer Getaway
Find out why Dan Colen spends his summertime at Sky High Farm.

From the pages of V125, artist Dan Colen shares with V what’s on his summer agenda—a wholesome retreat to his very own Sky High Farm. While active as ever in the post-Y2k New York art scene he helped define, Colen is increasingly busy raising crops and cattle at the upstate property—a bounty he uses to fight hunger in NYC. Learn more about Dan Colen’s humanitarian summer pastime below.

“Sky High Farm is my favorite place in every season, but particularly during the summer, when the gardens are most active and the baby animals are most abundant. We are committed to addressing food security and nutrition for New York, and improving access to fresh food to those living in underserved communities; we sustainably grow fresh fruits and vegetables and raise livestock exclusively for the purposes of donation. Spending time on the farm allows for a unique balance between giving and receiving.”
