Daniel Lee Leaves Bottega Veneta
The designer unexpectedly leaves the Italian fashion house after three years.
After more than three years, Daniel Lee will be leaving Bottega Veneta. According to WWD, the announcement, made on Wednesday, Nov. 10th, stated that his leave was a “joint decision” between Lee and the brand. Reasons for the departure are unknown, but Bottega noted that a “new creative organization” for the fashion house will be announced soon.
The designer first joined Bottega back in July of 2018. Since then, he has brought a new vision for the company, including deleting the brand’s social media accounts, hosting traveling shows and creating alluring designs—padded handbags and golden chain straps galore, to name a few. Lee also has won numerous awards and been a part of notable design teams. Back in 2012, he left Donna Karan (DKNY) to join Céline as their womenswear director.
In Bottega’s official statement, courtesy of WWD, Lee gave his thanks to the brand and its team.
“My time at Bottega Veneta has been an incredible experience. I am grateful to have worked with an exceptional and talented team and I am forever thankful to everyone who was part of creating our vision. Thank you to François-Henri Pinault for his support, and for the opportunity to be part of Bottega Veneta’s story.”
