David Bowie is the latest superstar to be immortalized in plastic. Mattel has announced that the Glam Rock icon has received the full Barbie treatment. The famous doll is dressed as Ziggy Stardust, rocking red hair, metallic catsuit and trademark astral makeup. The Limited Edition doll is retailed at $50 and is expected to go on sale within the next few weeks. This coincides with the 50th anniversary of Bowie’s seminal album ‘Space Oddity’.

Mattel, in a statement, said, “In a definitive celebration of two pop culture icons, Barbie® honors the ultimate pop chameleon, English singer, songwriter and actor, David Bowie, whose dramatic musical transformations continue to influence and inspire.”

This isn’t the first time that Barbie has honored a legend. In the past, dolls have been made in the image of Frida Kahlo, Iris Apfel, and Karl Lagerfeld. Barbie is adored by millions, and she’s even got makeovers from some of the biggest names in fashion (Versace, Moschino and Burberry).
