Daydreaming in Tokyo with Shaqdi

Up-and-coming artist Shaqdi showcases her evolving sound in newest single “Daydreaming”.

London based Swedish artist Shaqdi makes a fresh comeback today with the release of her brand new single “Daydreaming”. Taking place in Tokyo, the music video emulates Shaqdi’s free spirit and daydreaming state of mind. At the same time, her indefinable R&B sound evokes a dreamy attitude befitting the title of the track.

Shaqdi grew up in a small town in Sweden and was immersed in music early in her life. At the age of four, she learned to play the piano and violin. Later on, she moved to Stockholm to study music and develop production skills at Kulturama.

Her music began to take form after she met London producer and filmmaker Zagor, who filmed the music video for “Daydreaming”. Early on, Shaqdi’s debut EP “Colorless” showed influence from artists like Smino and MØ, and featured the track “Like You Used To” produced by Zagor.

To Shaqdi, “daydreaming is all about creating your own reality and to zone out from the world people want you to believe and live in.”
