Demi Lovato Announces New YouTube Docuseries ‘Dancing With the Devil’

The singer will open up about her near-fatal overdose in 2018, and more.

A little over two years ago, recovering from an overdose that nearly took her life, Demi Lovato made a promise to her fans via Twitter: “Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.” Now, she is ready to share everything on “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil,” her upcoming YouTube Originals docuseries.

The project will provide viewers with a glimpse of perhaps the most challenging period for the pop star – focusing especially on the 2018 episode and its impact on her life and career. This will be the first time Lovato opens up publicly about what happened.

“There has been so much that I’ve wanted to say, but knew I had to say it right,” she tweeted. “I’m so excited to finally share this story with you that I’ve held on to for the last 2 years.”

“Dancing With the Devil” is a follow-up to the 2017 YouTube documentary “Simply Complicated” and will also include footage from the singer’s 2018 Tell Me You Love Me World Tour – filmed at the initial stages of the docuseries’ production.

The project is directed and executive produced by Michael D. Ratner and produced by Ratner’s OBB Pictures and SB Projects. The first two episodes of the four-part docuseries will be available for free on March 23 on Lovato’s YouTube channel. The other episodes will be released weekly on the platform on the following two Tuesdays.

On Jan. 20, Lovato is joining Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and others to perform at Joe Biden’s inauguration.
