Demna Gvasalia’s Balenciaga Winter ‘18 collection gave us gender neutrality, a multiplicity of futuristic ski-inspired layers and intricately-structured tweed outerwear. Ultimately — and unsurprisingly —, it left us wanting more.

Thankfully, more is yet to come as Gvasalia has just revealed a book published by Rizzoli that documents and commemorates not only the collection but everything that went into creating it through exclusive images. From initial sketches of the collection and the high-tech fitting process to the making of the ski-mountain set, this is a book that will allow for an intimate and in-depth view of the iconic fashion house.

A brand that is no stranger to exclusivity, Balenciaga permitted only two photographers to chronicle the backstage madness: Johnny Dufort and Pierre-Ange Carlotti. The snapshot-style photographs capture the process of developing the collection and the show itself, and, the book features a unique and rare printing style with two additional neon tones infused in each printed image. Gvasalia sums up this new piece perfectly: “Every show I do from now on for Balenciaga is cinematographic in terms of concept and setup, and each of them I’d like to accompany with some memorabilia, something that actually puts you into that show and the process behind it.”

The book is available now on Balenciaga's website and will be available in bookstores come February.

Check out some images of the book below (but, trust us, you're going to want to see this in real life).
