We can’t say the newly released joint collection launched by Dickies and Harley-Davidson came as a shock. The collaboration between the two actually meshes especially well. We can, however, say it’s unexpected. In today’s fashion climate, brand partnerships often emerge far more startling than before — e.g. LOEWE and Hennessy, Meta AI and Coperni, Willy Chavarria and Latino Fan Club — allying two entities seemingly on opposite ends of the pop culture spectrum. But, the Dickies x Harley-Davidson “Born to Be Alive” collection was entirely unexpected…due to how much scholars of styles past expected it.

The limited-edition capsule fuses Dickies’s archetypal workwear grit with the versed motorcycle pedigree of Harley-Davidson — two Americana legacies that stroll harmoniously hand-in-hand. Classic workwear silhouettes are reconceptualized with a moto-inspired edge, resulting in a versatile range of pieces suited for both the workshop and the open road.

In retrospect, the Dickies x H-D collab was entirely warranted. Both brands are intrinsic to the fabric of the American experience, serving as enduring symbols of the culture’s codes. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson has operated as the vanguard of the motorcycle lifestyle, leading the market with its frontline, customizable motorcycles and exceptional riding accessories. As for Dickies, a Texan brand founded in 1922, the company was originally intended to supply a generation of laborers with ordinary workwear, eventually growing into the worldwide force that it is today. Their latest partnership combines each community’s strong suits to produce a line of essentials infused with the unequivocal durability of a Dickies piece and the rebellious spirit of Harley-Davidson.

In addition to a selection of graphic tees, work pants, hoodies, and hats, the collection features the Dickies x H-D Quilted Lined Eisenhower Jacket, available in both men’s and womens, and made durable from a heavyweight twill blend. A signature Dickies silhouette, the Eisenhower receives a recognizably H-D upgrade with an array of cleverly added details — an action back, adjustable waistband tabs, pre-curved sleeves, and a hidden snap-down collar that won’t flap around under riding gear.

The ever popular Dickies work pants are reimagined as the Dickies x H-D Original 874 Work Pants, made rugged from a heavyweight twill blend that is stain and wrinkle-resistant with reinforced seams. The relaxed fit pant also boasts a variety of rider-friendly components including a waistband key ring, a snap-closed back pocket for securing essentials, and a lower pocket placement for added comfort while in the saddle. Rounding out the line is the Dickies x HD Racerback Cropped Eagle Tank, a shape flattering addition made from breathable 100% cotton that is ribbed for a textured look.
