Dion Lee brings commonality to nature, political, and militant ideologies in his latest FW18 collection.  Alongside more reserved silhouettes are skirts bursting with contoured structures, and sheer mesh designs. A new take on femininity was manifested, as neutral bras were topped with mesh and shaped on the outer layers of garments, drawing a parallel to the current empowerment movements that are centric to today's climate. In other pieces, patches of the garments were absent, exposing a bare shoulder or two. The collection finds a harmonious balance between serious silhouettes and more audacious cuts.

The inspiration of nature does not go unnoticed as deep blue meshed dresses create new movement, summoning images of harsh currents. Sandy tones sit atop thin tops and baggy frames while, lush green hues find a home on quilted puffers, mimicking rolling hills bursting with prolific vegetation.

The collection embodies society’s current tone, calling for a political revolution and the liberation of women. What makes this concept easier to digest are the familiarity of the natural hues that make up these statement pieces.
