Dior Releases Beachwear With Parley For The Oceans
Beach days turn luxurious with this debut collaboration that promotes sustainability and benefits oceanic health
Sustainability doesn’t have to compromise style, and the newest capsule collection by Dior and Parley By The Oceans is proof. In efforts to become more eco-innovative, the fashion house has teamed up with the organization dedicated to preserving the ocean—the world’s largest ecosystem—with strategy called Parley Air: Avoid, Intercept, Redesign.
Releasing today, April 14, as part of Dior’s Pre-Fall collection, the capsule features environmentally conscious pieces including poplin pants, a thick t-shirt, a polo shirt, a sweater, and two packable jackets. New B23 sneakers, complete with bio-based plastic soles, make a statement with Adriatic heather fabric.
The upscale-casual looks are comprised of upcycled yarns and fabrics designed from Parley Ocean Plastic. Marine debris and fishing gear recovered from coasts and islands worldwide are fashioned alongside silky jacquard, mesh knit, and technical canvas.
In a dominating color palette of hues of blue and ochre, garments and accessories are adorned with iconic archival patterns including the Dior Oblique and the Adriatic graphic motif. Proceeds from the beachwear capsule benefit the Parley X10 impact program, which assures that 10 times the equivalent of each product’s carbon and plastic footprint will come from nature.
The collection launches in select boutiques and can be shopped online here.
