In every girl’s closet, you’ll find three types of shoes: dazzling heels, practical flats, and the oh-so-needed running shoe. And this season, you might need to make some room in your wardrobe for Dior’s new “Chrono” sneaker. Released as part of the maison’s Fall 2024 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the sneaker melds together classic Dior codes with the ethos of running culture.
With a classic running silhouette, Dior injects some serious style and luxurious materials to elevate the running experience. With a supple, ultra-light sole, the easy-to-throw-on kicks feature fishnet and leather-effect inserts, while a visual mixture of textures compliments the hues of nude, white, black, silver, or gold that are available in this model. For an athleisure shoe that mixes the energy of a dad sneaker with uptown elevation, the “Chrono” proves to be as versatile as a classic pump, easily pairable with sharp suiting, tracksuits, and even mini dresses.
With a stencil-drawn tribute to the house’s heritage on the outside of the shoe with the initials “CD” in a seemingly stitched manner, Mr. Dior’s lucky symbol of a star accents the tongue of the shoe, a nod to the star he spotted on his way to work on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. With historical symbols of the house involved with every step you take in the “Chrono”, the sneaker undoubtedly echoes early aughts vibes with a much more modern twist.
The Dior Chrono sneakers are now available online at Dior.com and will be available in boutiques beginning May 30, 2024.
